Designing a custom carrying case requires thought and care. Our in-house design team is glad to help you develop cases from scratch. You can come to us with a concept or idea, and we can design and build from that. We will help you create all aspects of the case including the custom foam inserts. To meet the varied and demanding needs of our clients, we proudly offer different foam materials for constructing custom carrying cases. Some of the most commonly used foams include:
1.7 polylam: this is a closed cell polyethylene, which is 1.7 pounds per cubic ft. of density. It has a layered structure which gives it unique cushioning properties.
Anti-static polyurethane: this is a high performing cushion that is used for lighter items that also do not provide any anti-static properties (for sensitive electric gear).
Expanded Polyethylene: this closed cell, beaded polyethylene is semi-rigid, low-weight, high strength, and not cross-linked. We usually add this foam to the top layer to give extra protection.
Convoluted Foam: This is commonly referred to as egg crate foam (because of how it looks). It is somewhat versatile, and it is frequently used to construct the inside of case lids.
